Hello Gilham Families,
• Regular School Schedule -- The school schedule –
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday starting at 7:55 and ending at 2:25.
Wednesday starts at 7:55 and ends at 1:10.
• Read Across America – March 2nd - 6th we will be celebrating Read Across America with a Spirit week. This is a fun way to celebrate literacy. Each day there will be a theme for students to participate with.
Here are the Spirit Days:
Monday 3/2 – Mismatch Monday – Wear items that don’t go together like unmatched socks.
Tuesday 3/3 – Team up for Reading (Sports Day) – Wear something to support your favorite team. This could be a High Schools team, College Team, or Pro Team.
Wednesday 3/4 – House Assembly – Twin Day/Buddy Day – Find a twin or a buddy to dress up alike in your House Colors.
Thursday 3/5 – Hats off to Books – Wear a fun hat.
Friday 3/6 – Snuggle up and Read Day – This is an all school Pajama Day. We will also have a book giveaway at the end of the day. PTO also has Kona Ice scheduled to be here for afterschool.
• Electronics Recycling Competition - DONATE NOW! – Do you have unwanted, unused, or broken electronics in your home, but don’t know what to do with them? Donate in the bin in by the office to help Gilham win the 2026 Electronics Recycling Competition! Donate now through beginning of April.
• Be a Gilham Shirt Sponsor – The Jog-a-thon is coming soon! Help us get Gilham jog-a-thon shirts for our school by becoming a shirt sponsor! This is a great way to advertise your business and to help out some pretty great kids. Space is limited and levels are on a first come, first serve basis. • K-7 Flag Football Opportunity at Autzen Stadium – Next Level Sports and the University of Oregon are offering an inclusive, fun K–7 flag football league starting April 12th at Autzen Stadium and the Moshofsky Center. See the linked flyer and website for more info.
• Spring Break Camps – Singing Creek Educational Center has two options for Spring Break. The Forest Path Nature Camp is at Dorris Ranch Living History Village for the whole week, and the Old School Pioneer Camp is only Monday - Wed at the SMJ House in Eugene. https://www.singingcreekcenter.org/
• Sheldon Little League – Calling All Ballplayers! Join Sheldon Little League for a Season of Fun, Friends, and Baseball in Eugene!
Why Join Sheldon Little League?
Registration is now open for the 2026 Spring Season! Sheldon Little League invites boys and girls ages 4–13 in the Eugene area to join us on the field. Little League is about more than just baseball; it’s about building character, learning teamwork, developing sportsmanship, and making lasting friendships right here in our community.
Inclusion and Support: Every Child Plays
Scholarships Available: We believe that financial circumstances should never be a barrier to playing baseball, and scholarships are available to ensure every child has the chance to participate.
No Tryouts: There are no tryouts required to be placed on a team—everyone who registers gets to play!

Hola familias de Gilham,
• Horario Escolar Regular – El horario escolar –
Lunes/Martes/Jueves/Viernes comenzando a las 7:55 y terminando a las 2:25.
El miércoles comienza a las 7:55 y termina a la 1:10.
• Leer por toda América – Del 2 al 6 de marzo celebraremos la semana de Leer por toda América con un Espíritu. Es una forma divertida de celebrar la alfabetización. Cada día habrá un tema en el que los estudiantes podrán participar.
Aquí están los días del espíritu:
Lunes 3/2 – Lunes de prendas desiguales: usa prendas que no combinen, como calcetines que no combinen.
Martes 3/3 – ¡Únete a Reading (Día del Deporte)! Ponte ropa para apoyar a tu equipo favorito. Puede ser un equipo de preparatoria, universitario o profesional.
Miércoles 3/4 – Asamblea de la casa – Día de los gemelos/día del compañero – Encuentra un gemelo o un compañero para vestirse igual con los colores de tu casa.
Jueves 5/3 – ¡Nos quitamos el sombrero ante los libros! Ponte un sombrero divertido.
Viernes 6/3 – Día de Acurrucarse y Leer – Este es un Día de Pijamas para toda la escuela . También tendremos una entrega de libros al final del día. La Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTO) también tiene programado a Kona Ice para después de clases.
• Concurso de Reciclaje de Electrónicos - ¡DONA AHORA! ¿ Tienes aparatos electrónicos no deseados, sin usar o rotos en casa, pero no sabes qué hacer con ellos? Dona en el contenedor junto a la oficina para ayudar a Gilham a ganar el Concurso de Reciclaje de Electrónicos 2026. Dona desde ahora hasta principios de abril.
• Patrocina las camisetas Gilham: ¡ El Jog-a-thon se acerca pronto! ¡Ayúdanos a conseguir camisetas del Jog-a-thon Gilham para nuestra escuela convirtiéndote en patrocinador! Es una excelente manera de promocionar tu negocio y ayudar a niños geniales. El cupo es limitado y los niveles se asignan por orden de llegada. • Oportunidad de fútbol bandera para niños de primaria y secundaria en el Estadio Autzen: Next Level Sports y la Universidad de Oregón ofrecen una liga inclusiva y divertida de fútbol bandera para niños de primaria y secundaria a partir del 12 de abril en el Estadio Autzen y el Centro Moshofsky. • Campamentos de Primavera: El Centro Educativo Singing Creek ofrece dos opciones para las vacaciones de primavera.
