Regular School Schedule — The school schedule this year.
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday starting at 7:55 and ending at 2:25.Wednesday starts at 7:55 and ends at 1:10.
Open House/Curriculum Night Sept. 26th at 5:30-6:30 – Open House/Curriculum Night will be on Tuesday, Sept. 26th. This is a great time to see the classroom, learn about the year, connect with the teacher, and see the curriculum. This is not a conference time but instead a time to connect with the classroom. Hope to see you there.
Extra Yards for Teachers Nomination – Do you know a teacher who goes above and beyond for their students? The University of Oregon Athletic Department and the Pac-12 Conference have partnered with the College Football Playoff Extra Yards for Teachers program to be able to award four lucky teachers with over $1,500 each! Nominate a Teacher today, before the Oct. 21 deadline!

See event page for more detailsSince the start of the Kinder/1st Learn to Ride program in 2019, we’ve taught more than a 1,000 kids to ride bikes in 4J alone! When you include the many students who’ve learned in Springfield and Bethel, as well as the thousands who have gained critical traffic safety skills in our 5th/6th grade bike safety classes, we’ve got thousands of students to celebrate!
Please join us for ice cream and a group ride, starting and ending at the EWEB Plaza.

Breakfast & Lunch Menus – Breakfast and lunch menus are available on the 4J Menu Website. Make sure you filter to Gilham Elementary.
Volunteering – Volunteers should not be bringing the younger siblings with them when helping in the classrooms. If any parents or guardians would like to volunteer at Gilham, you’ll need a completed background check. See the Volunteer in Eugene School District 4J Webpage for details.
PTO Updates:
#GilhamDinnerClub: Don’t forget to join us for yummy cookies, scones, and lattes at Doughmo Cookies on Tuesday the 19th, all day! They have delicious cookies in seasonal flavors as well as their OG favorites! See you there!
We hope to see you this Thursday, Sept. 21st at our first PTO meeting of the year! We will be in the library at 5:30pm. Come and see what we’re all about. We hope to pack the house this year!
Don’t forget to contact the PTO to sign up as a volunteer at the jogathon on Oct. 6th. It’s right around the corner and all volunteers must be approved through the 4J background check. Click here to get it done in time for the event.

Open House/Curriculum Night Sept. 26 at 5:30-6:30 – Open House/Curriculum Night será el martes 26 de septiembre. Esto es un gran tiempo para ver el aula, aprender sobre el año, conectar con el maestro, y ver el plan de estudios. Esto no es un tiempo de conferencia pero en cambio un tiempo para conectar con el aula. Espero verlos allí.
Nominación a “Extra Yards for Teachers” – ¿Conoce a algún profesor que se esfuerce al máximo por sus alumnos? El Departamento de Atletismo de la Universidad de Oregón y la Conferencia Pac-12 se han asociado con el programa Extra Yards for Teachers de los Playoffs de Fútbol Universitario para poder premiar a cuatro afortunados profesores con más de 1.500 dólares cada uno. Nomina a un profesor hoy, antes de la fecha límite del 21 de octubre.

Desde el inicio del programa Aprende a Montar en Kinder/1º en 2019, ¡hemos enseñado a montar en bici a más de 1.000 niños solo en 4J! Cuando se incluyen los muchos estudiantes que han aprendido en Springfield y Bethel, así como los miles que han adquirido habilidades críticas de seguridad vial en nuestras clases de seguridad en bicicleta de 5º/6º grado, ¡tenemos miles de estudiantes para celebrar!
Por favor, únase a nosotros para el helado y un paseo en grupo, comenzando y terminando en la Plaza EWEB.

Voluntariado – Los voluntarios no deben traer a los hermanos menores con ellos cuando ayudan en las aulas.
