Parent Newsletter August 28th, 2023

August 28, 2023

Hello Gilham Families,

Here are a couple reminders for the start of the year.  For more detailed information, please click here for the Welcome Back Newsletter

Attendance Matters – Start the School Year Right
Getting into the habit of daily attendance is more important than ever. Sending your child to school regularly helps to:

  • Build routines that help reduce stress.
  • Make it easier to connect with friends and teachers.
  • Support learning.

When students attend regularly (missing no more than one day a month), they are much more likely to read proficiently by third grade, do well in middle school, and be on track to graduate from high school.

Volunteering Background Check Info – If any parents or guardians would like to volunteer at Gilham, you’ll need a completed background Check. See the Volunteer in Eugene School District 4J Webpage for details.
