Hello Gilham Families,
School Hours —
Monday – Thursday starting at 7:55 and ending at 2:25.
Friday starting at 7:55 and ending at 1:10.
Doors open at 7:40.
Curbside Pause Parking Reminders — In the mornings, students may be dropped off along the curb. At the end of the day, drivers can pause park along the curb to pick up their students when they come out at dismissal. Please note the following rules for pause parking:
- Drivers must remain in their cars at all times.
- Drivers should pull forward as space becomes available.
- Drivers should NOT stop in marked crosswalk areas.
- When getting in or out of a car, students must use the door on the sidewalk side. Students should never get in or out of a car on the driver’s side. It’s unsafe for the student and it slows traffic.
- If your student is unable to buckle themselves or needs assistance getting in and out of the carseat then you will need to park so they can get safely buckled in.
Drivers must remember to ALWAYS yield at the painted crosswalks and sidewalks.
Late Students to Office in Morning — Any students arriving at school after 7:55 need to check in at the office before going to class. We’ve given some grace the past week, but starting this week all other entrances will close at 7:55.
Dress for the Weather — Mornings are getting chilly, and Oregon rain will be returning. Please help your child dress for the weather while they wait lined up outside in the morning to enter the building and when they go out to recess.

4J Parent Info Session — Today — Eugene School District 4J is committed to the health and safety of our students and staff. As the school year gets underway, our district is holding a parent information webinar, Monday, Sept. 20, 5:30–6 p.m., to keep families up to date about the return to in-person learning.
The webinar will provide an overview of COVID-19 health and safety protocols and preventive measures such as vaccines, face masks, distancing, ventilation, cleaning, testing, and what happens when there’s a COVID-19 case identified at a school.
Lunch Menu and Bringing lunch — Students are offered a free breakfast and lunch on days they are in person. Here is the link to find out what is being offered for lunch to go over with your students. Make sure you filter for Gilham — https://family.titank12.com/menu/86L6D9
If your student is bringing their lunch from home it needs to be nut free and students need to be able to open the items on their own.
Stay tuned and visit the school district website for the latest information. https://www.4j.lane.edu/
