Hello Gilham Families, 

• Regular School Schedule -- The school schedule – 

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday  starting at 7:55  and ending at  2:25.

Wednesday starts at 7:55 and ends at 1:10.

• Parking Lot Reminders – The parking lot tends to be an issue in the morning more than the afternoon and we need your help. We understand that parents are trying to get their students here on time and then get to work but we still need to be responsible and respectful.  We need you to slow down when entering the parking lot and be aware of families walking around the cars.  Please remember to give yourself some extra time in the morning to get your student here.  The middle lane in the parking lot is to be used for parents that are parking, not to use as a drop off lane. Help set an example for the students out there in the morning on how to handle drop off respectfully.  

 Please note the following rules for the parking lot:

• ONLY cross using the crosswalk. Students and families should never cut across the driveway.

• Before using the crosswalk, students and adults must stop and look for cars.

The same procedures need to be followed in the afternoon.  This is also a reminder that we dismiss at 2:25.  

The safety of our students is important and we need your help in the parking lot.  

Please slow down and drive carefully.  

• Curbside Pause Parking Reminders -- In the mornings, students may be dropped off along the curb. At the end of the day, drivers can pause park along the curb to pick up their students when they come out at dismissal. Please note the following rules for pause parking:

• Drivers must remain in their cars at all times.

• Drivers should pull forward as space becomes available.

• Drivers should NOT stop in marked crosswalk areas.

• When getting in or out of a car, students must use the door on the sidewalk side. Students should never get in or out of a car on the driver’s side. It’s unsafe for the student and it slows traffic.

Drivers must remember to ALWAYS yield at the painted crosswalks and sidewalks.

• NO SCHOOL, Monday, Feb. 16 - Presidents Day – There is no school on Monday, February 16th, for Presidents Day.

• Electronics Recycling Competition - DONATE NOW! – Do you have unwanted, unused, or broken electronics in your home, but don’t know what to do with them? Donate in the bin in by the office to help Gilham win the 2026 Electronics Recycling Competition! Donate now through beginning of April.

• Unity School – Unity School has current open-enrollment for the K-4th grade afterschool program. We do morning care/drop off, and afternoon pickup for Holt, Gilham, Buena Vista, Guy Lee, and Centennial. Call today for a tour. 541-484-0107.

Hola familias de Gilham,

• Horario Escolar Regular – El horario escolar –

Lunes/Martes/Jueves/Viernes comenzando a las 7:55 y terminando a las 2:25.

El miércoles comienza a las 7:55 y termina a la 1:10.

• Recordatorios sobre el estacionamiento: El estacionamiento suele ser más problemático por la mañana que por la tarde, y necesitamos su ayuda. Entendemos que los padres intentan que sus hijos lleguen a tiempo y luego se pongan a trabajar, pero aun así debemos ser responsables y respetuosos. Les pedimos que reduzcan la velocidad al entrar al estacionamiento y que estén atentos a las familias que caminan alrededor de los autos. Por favor, recuerden tomarse un tiempo extra por la mañana para traer a su hijo. El carril central del estacionamiento es para los padres que estacionan, no para dejar a los niños. Ayúdenlos a dar ejemplo a los estudiantes que salen por la mañana sobre cómo manejar la entrega con respeto.

Tenga en cuenta las siguientes reglas para el estacionamiento:

• Cruce únicamente por el paso de peatones. Los estudiantes y sus familias nunca deben cruzar la entrada.

• Antes de utilizar el cruce de peatones, los estudiantes y adultos deben detenerse y observar si hay vehículos.

Se deben seguir los mismos procedimientos por la tarde. Les recordamos que la salida es a las 2:25.

La seguridad de nuestros estudiantes es importante y necesitamos su ayuda en el estacionamiento.

Por favor, reduzca la velocidad y conduzca con cuidado.

• Recordatorios para el estacionamiento en la acera: Por la mañana, se puede dejar a los estudiantes en la acera. Al final del día, los conductores pueden estacionar en la acera para recoger a sus estudiantes cuando salgan a la hora de salida. Tenga en cuenta las siguientes reglas para el estacionamiento en la acera:

• Los conductores deben permanecer en sus vehículos en todo momento.

• Los conductores deben avanzar a medida que haya espacio disponible.

• Los conductores NO deben detenerse en las áreas marcadas para el cruce de peatones.

Al subir o bajar de un vehículo, los estudiantes deben usar la puerta del lado de la acera. Nunca deben subir ni bajar del lado del conductor. Es peligroso para los estudiantes y ralentiza el tráfico.

Los conductores deben recordar SIEMPRE ceder el paso en los cruces peatonales y aceras pintadas.

• NO HAY CLASES el lunes 16 de febrero, Día de los Presidentes. No hay clases el lunes 16 de febrero por el Día de los Presidentes.

• Concurso de Reciclaje de Electrónicos - ¡DONA AHORA! ¿ Tienes aparatos electrónicos no deseados, sin usar o rotos en casa, pero no sabes qué hacer con ellos? Dona en el contenedor junto a la oficina para ayudar a Gilham a ganar el Concurso de Reciclaje de Electrónicos 2026. Dona desde ahora hasta principios de abril.

• Escuela de la Unidad –   La Escuela Unity tiene inscripciones abiertas para el programa extraescolar de kínder a 4.º grado. Ofrecemos servicio de guardería y recogida por la mañana y por la tarde para Holt, Gilham, Buena Vista, Guy Lee y Centennial. Llame hoy mismo para programar una visita. 541-484-0107.
