Friday starts at 7:55 and ends at 1:10.
NO SCHOOL FRIDAY March 17th – There is no school this Friday for a Staff Workload Relief Day.

Check Lost & Found Before Spring Break – Remind your child to check the Lost & Found for missing items. Anything left at the end of next week will be donated. Look for Lost & Found to be moved outside early next week at drop off for families to check.
ACE Award Nomination Open Through March 31– What’s better than knowing that spring is around the corner? How about that ACE Awards nomination season is here! 4J is accepting nominations for the 2023 ACE (A Champion in Education) Awards now through March 31.
Nominating a valued educator for the ACE Awards is a wonderful way to honor the incredible talent and dedication of our amazing teachers, classified staff, administrators and volunteers.
We’re thrilled to announce that the 2023 ACE Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 4, 5–7 p.m., at South Eugene High School—the first in-person celebration since 2019!
Every nominee will be recognized, and one nominee in each category will be named ACE Champion and receive a $250 grant for a school or program of their choosing from Eugene Education Foundation. One nominee also may be recognized with a special lifetime achievement award.
Save the date – Jogathon will be on April 28th. Watch for more information when we get closer. If you are interested in volunteering, make sure you have completed the volunteer application.

PTO Updates:
*The next PTO meeting is Thursday, March 16th at 5:30pm. It will be held in the Gilham Library. We hope to see you there!
*The house penny drive is March 13-24th! Your student can fill their jar before or after school in front of the main office (enter through your grade level door and then detour to the office). Dollars and pennies add points and silver coins remove points (make sure to put those in your opponents jar). You can see daily updates on the windows to the right of the main doors. All proceeds will support the house system (assemblies, meetings, etc) for the 2023-2024 school year.
*Mark your calendars! We will be doing a fundraiser at Doughmo’s Cookie Company on Tuesday, 3/21. Flyers to go home this week in backpacks.
Bike Donation Drive – Free Bikes 4 Kids – You can help Eugene and Springfield children by bringing Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K) your neglected bikes so they can give them a new purpose, helping kids unlock the keys to good health and independence. On Saturday, April 8, from 9 AM to 2 PM, FB4K is collecting bikes at all Eugene Market of Choice Locations and the Willamalane Bob Keefer Center in Springfield. You get a tax receipt, a roomier garage, and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve done something special.
