Parent Newsletter February 21st, 2022

February 21, 2022

Hello Gilham Families,

No Toys at School –  As a reminder, students should not bring toys to school. This would include games, trading cards, action figures, electronics, etc. These items quickly become distractions in the classroom and create problems when they go missing, or are traded at school. Please remind your child to not bring these items to school.

Kona Ice Fundraiser – The fundraiser will be on February 28th at 3:00 on Honeywood.  Come help support the Gilham PTO.  Hope to see you there!

Nut-Free Tables In the Cafeteria – We have changed some procedures in our cafeteria setting and eating expectations.  In the past couple of years, we have designated our cafeteria and school as nut free.  Working with 4j, we have examined our practices and do not have the ability to guarantee that our eating areas are nut free.  The health and safety of our students is exceptionally important to us.  We have added a nut-free eating area in our cafeteria that guarantees that students eating at that table have nut-free meals.  Students sitting at a nut-free table must have a documented nut allergy and may be joined by students who have school provided meals, as we can guarantee that all school provided meals are nut-free.  We do ask that you check in with your students’ teacher around snacks that can be eaten in the classroom, we still have some classrooms that are Nut Free for the safety of our students.

2022 Sheldon Boys And Girls Youth Lacrosse Clinics– Get ready for the lacrosse season by signing up for the Sheldon 1st-8th grade boys and girls lacrosse skills clinics, two 90-minute sessions. See their website for details.

REPEAT – Sheldon Little League – Registration Open February 4–28, 2022.  Sheldon Little League provides kids the opportunity to learn and apply teamwork, physical activity, and sportsmanship through baseball and softball. See the Sheldon Little League website.
