Hello Gilham Families,

School Hours —

Monday – Thursday classes start at 7:55 and end at  2:25.

Friday classes start at 7:55 and end at 1:10.

Doors open at 7:40.

Class starts at 7:55 and students should be in the classroom at that time.

Did you miss your conference? — If you were not able to attend your conference last week, please reach out to your students’ teacher.  Conferences are important to be able to share what is happening in the classroom with parents.

Holiday Food Boxes –– If your family is in need of a holiday food box over Thanksgiving break, please connect with the office by noon on Friday, November 19th.

Pause Parking Reminder – NO PICK UP OR DROP OFF IN THE MIDDLE LANE.  For safety and also basic courtesy drivers should not pick up or drop off  students in the middle lane. It blocks drivers trying to pull out of parking spots, stops traffic behind you, and is unsafe for your child.

Side Parking Lot — The side parking lot is not for student drop off and pick up.  We have had a couple issues with too many cars being in the lot and the buses being blocked.  The side parking lot is where staff and some of the daycare vans park.  Parents need to use the main parking lot in front of the building.

Student iPad iOS Update — We are finding that many students’ devices are needing their iPad iOS version updated. To check the iOS version, go to:

  • Settings > General >  About – and the software version will be listed.
  • Most should be 14.7 and there is no need to update. If the version starts with 13 it needs to be updated.

To update the iOS, go to:

  • Settings > General > Software update and check for software or it may display they have the most current allowed.
  • The update can take about 15 minutes to an hour.
  • If the device says there is not enough storage, check the camera roll and delete videos, which take up much space.  Don’t forget to also delete those videos and/or photos from the Recently Deleted folder, too.

Repeat — Ruby Bridge Walk to School Day, Wednesday, Nov. 17th — We invite all families to celebrate Ruby Bridges’ courage as a civil rights hero by encouraging students to walk to school on Wednesday, November 17th.
