Hello Gilham Families,
School Hours —
Monday – Thursday starting at 7:55 and ending at 2:25.
Friday starting at 7:55 and ending at 1:10.
Doors open at 7:40.
Students can wear costumes to school this Friday — Friday, October 29th students can come to school in a favorite costume or fancy outfit. Not wanting to dress up? No problem! Just wear as much Gilham gear or House Colors that you can! Get crazy, and creative. Dressing up is optional. The following costume dress code will be enforced:
- COVID face masks must cover the mouth and nose
- NO weapons or weapon-like props
- NO costume masks
- NO especially scary, gory costumes, or blood
- NO inflatable costumes
- NO dressing as another race, ethnicity, or culture
Erin’s Law – Child Safety Lesson — The state requires schools teach child safety lessons to ensure that all students be educated about child abuse and what to do if it is happening to them or someone they know. For more information about Erin’s Law you can watch her video or read the linked Erin’s Law Information Sheet.
Repeat — Fall Conferences — Parent – Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, November 9 from 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm and Wednesday, November 10 from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm. There will be no school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday that week.
Conferences will be over Zoom. Watch for scheduling information from your child’s teacher.
Meeting with your child’s teacher should help build strong parent-teacher partnerships. Partnerships are needed if you and your child’s teacher are to reach your common goal: helping your child get the best education possible.
Candy at School — This time of year we start seeing a lot of candy being brought to school. We are asking that you save the candy for after school. Students need to bring healthy snacks for snack time and for lunch. We would appreciate the candy not come to school.
